You can find your poster number in the 2012 Symposium booklet.
The Undergraduate Symposium is an annual poster fair that gives all undergraduate researchers a chance to share their research, scholary and creative projects with the University community. Whether you have done your research through a credit experience, through employment or through UROP or another program, you are welcome to register for the Symposium and present your poster.
Time and Place:: Wednesday, April 18; Coffman Union Great Hall. See below for session times.
Submission deadline: March 26, 2012
In order to present your poster at the Undergraduate Symposium, you need to submit an abstract detailing your research and register for one of the three sessions. If you need help with writing an abstract, please go here.
The three poster sessions are: Session 1 (11:30-1:00); Session 2 (1:15-2:45) and Session 3 (3:00-4:30). Please register below ranking your preference for presentation times. In order to submit your abstract for the Symposium booklet, you must use the template provided. Please go here to find the template. Once you have filled it out, save it on your computer and attach it below.

Once you have submitted your abstract and registration for the Symposium, your next step is to design and print your poster.

Poster Guidelines: Maximum poster size is 36 inches high x 48 inches wide in landscape format (86.36 x 121.92 cm). If you are printing at either the CBS Imaging Center or the John R. Borchert Map Library, please note their specific printing limitations below.
Push pins will be provided for attaching posters to the display boards. The display boards are 6' x 6'. Presenters are expected to arrive about 5 to 15 minutes before the beginning of their session and to remain near their posters until the end of their session. Posters must be taken down immediately at the session end to give the next presenter time to set up.
Poster Printing Resources:
For CBS students, you may print your poster for free in the University Imaging Center in 23 Snyder Hall on the St. Paul campus. Please check with the Imaging Center on the proper form to use to do this.
For other UMTC students, you may print your poster for free in the Map library in Wilson Library. Posters must be submitted by 8 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2012 to be printed for free. Students submitting posters after the deadline will need to pay for printing at the usual rates (a 36" x 48" poster is $100 plus tax).
Posters printed at the Map Library will be printed up to 36" x 48". Posters must be submitted in Power Point or PDF format and will be printed a the size the Power Point slide or PDF file indicates. Please submit your printing early. Students will need to return to pick up their poster after they receive an email notification that the poster is ready.

1. Posters can be uploaded here. Use the uploadbutton in the upper right corner, browse to your poster on your computer, and then click upload.
2. Fill out he form here.
Hint: In order to size your slide properly in Power Point 2007, use the Design tab and select Page Setup. Input the appropriate dimensions for your poster (for example, 36" x 48" for a portrait setup or 48" x 36" for a landscape setup). Poster dimensions can be smaller than 36" x 48" if desired.
The deadline for UROP proposals for research and creative activities in Summer/Fall 2012 is February 27, 2012.
