Brief Bio

I won an $8,000 scholarship for doing my own project in Europe. I am writing a book on a local church’s 100-year history. I like to play soccer, and my guitar.

Future Plans

I plan on going to graduate school for history. I want to be a professor at a university.

Why Research?

It is a great experience. It is a good way to get paid for it. It is a good way to learn about research. I am extremely interested in the topic.

What Did I Get from Research?

I got experience in doing research. I got experience in writing high quality academic papers that are published in academic journals. I worked closely with faculty mentors.

How Did I Start?

It was a faculty mentor I had worked with in the past. I knew him, and asked him if he would be interested in doing a project with me.

Advice for Another Student

It is a great opportunity, and they should think hard about their project and who they want to work with. Make sure the project is concise enough to be completed in the 120 hours allotted.

Project Description

Our project focuses on medieval Irish poetry that was meant for members of the elite class. We were looking for the presence of animal imagery in the poetry as to how the animals were used in the society.
