Brief Bio

I enjoy kayaking, hanging out with friends, and snowboarding.

Future Plans

I plan to apply to graduate school, and look for artist residencies.

Why Research?

The program I am in at the university is developing. By doing my research I got to further the developing program. It gave me hands on experience with a professor I enjoy working with.

What Did I Get from Research?

I learned much more then I would have in a classroom experience, since I could base my research on my own needs. I got a good relationship with the professor I am working with. I worked with emerging technology in art, and gained experience in operating the technology.

How Did I Start?

I was talking to the professor I researched with, and she suggested that we do a UROP. I really admired and enjoyed having class with her. We bounced ideas off of one another, and started the project.

My Advice for Another Student:

Go ahead and do it. Do not be scared or intimidated by it. Everyone doing research is a normal person too. If you do research, it opens many opportunities for you. It makes you more confident by doing it.

Research Summary

I was researching art and technology. I specifically worked with creating a projection screen that would have a video on it, and the screen would be moving as well. Also, we used glowing living algae as an artistic expression.
